I know what it’s like to feel vibrantly healthy.

But it wasn’t always that way. . .

At age 6 I was diagnosed with chronic migraines. In my early 20’s I became allergic to what seemed like everything in the air and had to take daily medication in order to function. In my late 20’s I was diagnosed with a rare spine disease. Each new diagnosis led to new medications I needed to take “for life”. After a scary doctors visit where I found out that one of my medications was causing horrible side effects, I was on a journey to find something natural. That’s when a friend introduced me to essential oils. As I learned more about oils and their medicinal properties, I started to experiment. I slowly started relying on oils instead of medications, and my body became healthier with each synthetic medication I removed.

Then in my late 30’s I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes. My doctor reassured me that I did not need to worry, I just needed to lose some weight. When asked what I should do to lose weight, she simply said “eat right and exercise.” I was already on a very popular diet plan and running half marathons, so she told me to just continue with that. A year later I had blood work again, and again received the feedback that I had pre-diabetes, but that I shouldn’t stress because I was clearly “healthy” otherwise. This cycle continued for years.

I continued to try to lose weight and control my blood sugar with exercise and various diets (calorie restriction, paleo, vegan, keto, etc.). I got lots of advice from friends and random google searches, but no matter what I tried or how strict I was, the weight never really came off, and if I had any leniency with diet, the weight added on really easily.
